In Brazil, 21.6% of all deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases (2021). Hypertension affects 45.0% of adults aged 30–79 (95% CI: 39.9–50.2; 2019), and only 33.3% of people with hypertension have it under control (2019). Diabetes affects 12.9% of adults (95% CI: 8.2–19.0; 2022). The probability of dying between ages 30 and 70 from a noncommunicable disease is 14.5% (2021).
