In Ecuador, 25.9% of all deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases (2021). Hypertension affects 27.2% of adults aged 30–79 (95% CI: 22.4–32.3; 2019), and only 28.6% of people with hypertension have it under control (2019). Diabetes affects 12.7% of adults (95% CI: 8.2–17.9; 2022). The probability of dying between ages 30 and 70 from a noncommunicable disease is 13.2% (2021).
