In Panama, 26.0% of all deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases (2021). Hypertension affects 36.1% of adults aged 30–79 (95% CI: 27.3–45.3; 2019), and only 28.5% of people with hypertension have it under control (2019). Diabetes affects 8.7% of adults (95% CI: 5.9–12.0; 2022). The probability of dying between ages 30 and 70 from a noncommunicable disease is 10.9% (2021).
